The Median was the first of many models developed in the Mustang line, initially as an "experimental car." It had the T-Bird "feel," but Ford built it to carry four.
The Allegro, another pre-Mustang Ford experiment, was built in 1962. It introduced the "fastback" roof similar to the present Mustang 2 plus 2, already a best-seller.
