PHOTOS: The Art of the Groom

Canyons Village Assistant Manager of Trails and Grooming Andy Marston has been working with Canyons since 1999, the past 14 seasons as a groomer. Park City has a total of 32 CATs between Park City Mountain Resort and Canyons Village to groom their ski slopes, and to transport food and beverage on the mountain. On a typical night, 120 hills are groomed between Canyons Village and Park City Mountain Resort. The typical grooming process is two passes on the slopes; first the snow is “bladed” to soften and tile the snow, and then it’s “groomed,” leaving fine patterns ready for skiing.
